Is the price shown inclusive of VAT?

Yes. Every price on Northgate Music Co. includes UK VAT at 20%, and a full VAT invoice is emailed with your dispatch confirmation. There are no import duties or handling fees on UK orders.

Will it need a set-up when it arrives?

No. Our workshop completes a full set-up before dispatch — truss rod, action, intonation and fresh strings — and includes the measurements in the box. UK humidity changes may call for a small seasonal tweak later on.

What happens if I don't get on with it?

You have 30 days from delivery to return it for a full refund. We email you a free UK return label, and refunds are processed to your original payment method within 5 working days of the item arriving back with us.

What warranty cover is included?

Two years parts and labour against manufacturing defects, on top of your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Consumables such as strings, reeds, heads and batteries are covered for 90 days.

Genuine Sitka spruce top for great tone

Yamaha chose a solid Sitka spruce top for their FGX830C for both its look and tone. Sitka spruce has a well-rounded, articulate sound with excellent projection. These qualities have made it the undisputed leader for acoustic guitar tops throughout the industry. And because it's a solid-wood top, the tone will age gracefully, with enhanced harmonics and greater tonal balance as the years go by. And Yamaha improved their scalloped bracing on the FGX830C to allow for more top movement, resulting in a larger low end and more projection.

Rosewood back and sides

The FGX830C sports a body made from rosewood. This wood is a favorite among flatpickers at Irvine Art & Music for its warm tone with plenty of harmonic content. Its rich sound enhances the lowest fundamental as well as top-end clarity, delivering a punchy tone that is great for getting through a mix. The sound is very fast to react, too, so every nuance of your playing is heard with definition.
